The Madison Herb Society is dedicated, as a
non-profit organization, to the education of its members and the
general public with regard to the culture and use of herbs.
Historically,
this organization has been involved in the planning, maintenance
and use of the Herb Garden at Olbrich Botanical Gardens and contributes
annually to its preservation.
Meetings are held monthly from September to May at the Olbrich Botanical Society
in Madison, Wisconsin, and annually include an Herbal Tea and a
Holiday Potluck for members and their guests.
The Madison Herb Society is organized exclusively for charitable, educational,
religious or scientific purposes within the meaning of section 501c(4) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Madison Herb Society members receive the opportunity every two years to run for a position on the Board of Directors or to elect board members of their choice. This process is repeated every two years and the upcoming September 2008–August 2010 term is voted on at the annual meeting on June 14, 2008.
Nominations will be accepted in April. There is also the opportunity for write-in candidates on the paper ballot. To nominate an interested person, or to volunteer for the position of your choice (contact us for position descriptions), please contact one of the below committee members prior to May 1, 2008.
