Membership Benefits
In addition to business issues, meetings also typically include Herb of the Month information and tasty samples by member volunteers. Presentations or activities afterwards cover a wide range of herbal related topics. Several potlucks designed to entice the palate throughout the year include organized gourmet dinners designed to entice the palate, holiday potluck or the spring tea. Summers often include an overnight adventure and a member garden tour. Other benefits include: education on the use of herbs, study groups with in-depth examination of herbs and herbal topics, and friendships with other like-minded individuals.
Each issue of the three to four yearly Newsletters has a variety of timely and relevant articles on issues and events relating to herbs. The articles cover the growing, defining and using of herbs (culinary, medicinal, crafts, etc.). In addition, there is the Cook's Corner, book reviews, the calendar of events and information relating to the organization as a whole.
The Madison Herb Society activities and opportunities are explained at monthly meetings and by e-mail in "News in Brief". Members without e-mail access will receive notification by mail.
