Winter Teas to Soothe Your Cold and Flu Symptoms

With the winter cold and flu season upon us, what better way to help you feel better, or just warm up, than a cup of herbal winter tea. These recipes originally appeared in the Madison Herb Society Cookbook published in 1995. This cookbook is now out of print, but may still be found at Madison-area used bookstores, or yard sales.

Winter Tea 1

6 parts peppermint
1 part sage
1 part rosemary

Winter Tea 2

3/4 c. dried sage leaves
3/4 c. dried chamomile
1/3 c. dried thyme

Combine herbs. Use 1 tablespoon crushed herb per 1 cup of boiling water. Steep for 15 minutes. Strain and serve.
