July Recipe of the Month

Chocolate Mint Sorbet

2-1/2 cups water
1 cup sugar handful of peppermint or chocolate mint (1/4 cup chopped)
1 cup unsweetened cocoa pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine sugar and water in saucepan. Bring to boil and stir to dissolve sugar.

When mixture is boiling and sugar is dissolved, lower heat. Add mint, cocoa, and salt; and simmer for 3 minutes stirring constantly. Remove from heat, strain out mint, and chill overnight.

Add vanilla and stir again. Freeze in ice cream maker.
